Loved your book and gave a hardcopy to each of my children and my sister. I bought mine from Amazon and downloaded it on the Kindle. I was bitterly disappointed to learn from the hardcopies that my Kindle edition did not have the photos. Why were they not included in the e reader edition? I have other e reader books that include photos.

I loved this book. It gave me lots of insight into my parents’ childhood and the lives of my grandparents, all from the Canton, OH area.

Your book also gave me a lot of insight into my mother’s generation. She was born on a farm in north Texas in 1922. She sometimes spoke of the Depression and how they at least had food. Another friend of mine was born on a farm in Montana in 1928. They were considered “rich” because they had meat, milk, vegetables, but no fruit and could at least barter for services/things they needed. Thank you for enriching our lives as Americans.

Thank you so much for this story. My parents were both born in the early 30s in Canton and Massillon and were too young to be able to share detailed memories of that era. My grandparents didn’t speak about it that much either. I have a greater appreciation for the struggles they all endured and why their frugality and stoicism continues to this day.

Thank you so much for writing this amazing book! My parents were both born and raised in Canton. My grandfather helped lay bricks to build the Hoover Company! My dad was born in 1927, my mom in 1930, so they grew up during the Hard Times. It really made me appreciate everything I have, and amazed that people got by on so little.
